Potluck happens on the last Saturday of the month. This time, it sure was a typical cold and windy Indiana afternoon! But you came! You came to the future home of Islamic Life Center(ILC). You brought meals to share with your Al Salam Community. We talked. We laughed. We shared those meals. We discussed some progress and some good news about your ILC. You gave us your thoughts and feedback.

Covid Restriction Updates
Al Salam Board of Directors(BOD) have decided to easing the COVID restrictions for prayers at Al Salam Musallah.
If you are fully vaccinated (12 years and above)
- No need for prayer rug
- No social distancing
- Masks are still required
Board of Directors(BOD) Election Updates
- Al Salam Election Committee Formed
- Brs. Eyas Abu-Raddad and Faisal Abunaser are Election Commissioners(EC)
- Election to be held for three(3) Al Salam Board of Directors(BOD) positions
- Elections will be online, EC is finalizing the process.
Current Board of Directors(BOD) – Dr. Faisal Khan, Dr. Sakib Khalid, Dr. Bilal Tahir, Sr. Maryam Quereshi, Sr. Aliya Amin, Brs. Zakir Akbar, Ali Abufares, Dr. Ashraf Saeed, Khalid Mahmood, Ashhar Madni.
Other Updates
- Imaam selection – we are actively looking for a part time imaam to lead prayers and potluck
- Afghan Refugees – Dr. Faisal leading engagement through ISNA
- Al Salam committed to $10,000, over $8,300 raised. Please donate!
- Br. Faisal will be visiting the camp on Nov 6th.
Overbrook Boundary Dispute updates
- Long outstanding border dispute with Overbrook
- Consulted lawyers on the matter and BOD decided to resolve through mutually discussion outside court
- Agreement currently being drafted with Attorneys
